Happy belated birthday. I'm sorry I forgot. Yesterday the iPod turned 6 years old.
How many folks scoffed at this quirky $600 music player arguing that their Sony Walkman CD player would do just fine?
And now look at her. Billions of downloads via iTunes, creating an entire ancillary market, revitalizing Apple Computers and redefining them as the cool and trendy brand, and revolutionizing the music industry with an electronic medium for music (versus going to Camelot Music to get an $18 CD with only 2 songs you actually like on it).
And competitors come and go-- Zune, you Zucked; Creative Zen, plz-- but you're still here and dominating the market.
