Billions of downloads via iTunes, creating an entire ancillary market, revitalizing Apple Computers and redefining them as the cool and trendy brand, and revolutionizing the music industry with an electronic medium for music (versus going to Camelot Music to get an $18 CD with only 2 songs you actually like on it).

And competitors come and go-- Zune, you Zucked; Creative Zen, plz-- but you're still here and dominating the market.

Congrats, girl. I hope you have many more birthdays to come.

Great Weekend Kickoff

Good job in ruining my dreams South Florida, by losing to Rutgers last night.

I guess it's back to the drawing board for BCS mayhem. I expect Ohio State-- waltzing t/ their weak ass Big 10/11 schedule right into the title game-- to face LSU in the BCS Nat. Championship game. Geez, THE Ohio State getting into Championship game with their schedule is about like a welfare queen getting her monthly check-- regardless of what happens she just shows up at the mailbox once a month and, voila, it's there.

Kentucky gets fined $50,000 by the NCAA for letting its fans storm the field after beating then #1 LSU. Come on NCAA. If it's up to you guys you'd fine someone for kissing their bride after getting married. Let 'em have a little fun. Of course, I remember people nearly getting killed after on-field celebrations of the past. But in Kentucky we just think of that as thinning the herd.

Georgia? Georgia? Are you guys fuggin' kidding me? I've gotten to witness Georgia players grabbing their crotches in front of the Auburn student section after hard-fought wins so I'm no stranger to their antics. But, guys, Vandy? You celebrated on Vandy's logo after needing a field goal to beat them? Do you guys ever sit back and think about how far your program and expectations have dropped when you rub a win in the face of Vandy? I hope UGA gets a broom-handle beat down next year in Athens by Vandy.

Auburn-LSU this weekend. Is Tubs a mad genius? How can this guy continue to murder top-10 opponents but then suffer blowouts to unranked teams? So don't be surprised if Auburn beats LSU this weekend. Furthermore, don't be surprised if we turn right around and lose by 4 TD's to Ole Miss the following weekend.

The BCS Anarchist Returns

What a week. LP was out of town for 3 nights and 4 days so I got my shorteez all to myself. Read that as "thank goodness I made it a whole week without killing my own children."

Then we immediately jetted off to DisneyWorld where we had the times of our lives. You cannot imagine how awesome DW is until you see if t/ the sheer joy of a 4-year-old. Anna was absolutely on Cloud 9 the entire trip. I'll have pics soon.

Lots of fat people in DW as well. Let me clarify here. I love America, but man I'm kinda tired of Americans-- all our fat selves waddling around with our highly-processed diets, lugging our fat kids around with us. Damn, let's have some pride.

I was happy-ish to see the first BCS standings. See, I hate the BCS. I always have and since the screwing that Auburn took in 2004 I'm pretty much an anti-BCS / pro-playoff evangelist.

So this year I'm gonna wish my lucky stars that the worst possible matchup comes to fruition. Something like Kansas v. South Florida. That's a game that no one in their right mind (outside of the states of Kansas and Florida) can give 2 sh1ts about.

So here's a toast to BCS anarchy.

I always have to qualify any rant on Memphis with empirical evidence as my wife considers any Memphis rant to be baseless and me to be an idiot. So here goes, LP: Census Bureau Quick Facts on Memphis

Memphis is essentially 34% white and 61% black. Historically, Memphis has been described as "a city of 1,000,000, but it's a poor and uneducated 1,000,000."

And Memphis will once again prove its ignorance by electing WW Herenton as Mayor... AGAIN. Why? Because many things come down to lower common denominator and in Memphis, that means 'race.' Memphis might be one of the best living examples of "separate but... whatever."

Actually studying the current state of Memphis and it's issues with political corruption, education issues and crime problems would take too much energy for the rank and file... so they vote based upon what they know, race.

Black folks vote for black folks and white folks want to vote for anyone other than Herenton. Guess what, whitey? You're outnumbered 2-to-1. I'll be shocked if Herenton does not win another 4 year in office to continue to tear this city apart.
